5 Day Video Rental Test

Published on: 12-May 11:53pm

Interim results of my 5-day video test.

Sorry for the delay, it’s explained at the end.

This test has brought home again the reason I’m not too fond of cold emails.

I’ll not give a day by day, but I’ve had between 3 and 7 deposits per day into my account, that’s for every 100 emails sent. That’s all I’m interested in.

So after this test, I’m happy to work on an average of 5 deposits per 100 emails.

I only had one decent day last week. Out of the 6 different emails I’ve sent out in total, only 2 have proved worthwhile. The others are, let’s just say, shyte.

As luck would have it the best email was my first one.

Remember I’ve been sending 100 emails to plumbers and 100 to electricians. I’ve never sent the same email to both parties on the same day or in the same city. I’ve also varied the city size.

So I’m ending up producing an average of 10 videos per day.

I’ve perfected a workflow for this, starting from when I receive the images and script.

I can also say with 100 percent confidence that plumbers and electricians don’t know one end of a camera or smartphone from the other.

I’ve had to de-noise and add filters to every image I’ve received. But it’s in a workflow now, and I’m able to do the 10 videos in the 2 hours I’ve allocated myself.

The reason I’ve delayed is I had a new client who was so taken with the concept that he got me on a video call to his local business association on Saturday afternoon.

I sold 19 videos off that. Those numbers are not included in my averages.

What is interesting is I’m selling at least 1 of my thumbnails every day, with no advertising except for that original video I placed on the same channel.

Thumbnails take at least 3 hours to do the initial setup.

Anyway, I’m quite happy with this simple business model.

At $29US per video, I’m able to receive $290US into my account averaged out per day. Monday to Friday as set workdays.

Working 21 days per month on average that’s $6090US per month.

Since these numbers accrue every month I’m quite happy with this as an interim income whilst I set up my new healthcare sites and await the eventual return of my travel and adventure sites.

This is the perfect model for a VA or employee.

I’m just doing this now myself as I quite enjoy the video production process with all these new images, besides I only work at night so as I don’t watch TV that often, this keeps me busy.

I have no plans to scale up this model.

I’ve also sent 10 physical packages to selected plumbers and 10 to selected electricians.

I’ll give that a month as I don’t think the mail is as it normally operates.

Today I took 11 steps unaided. The doc is now happy that I can progress to water therapy. At bloody last.

Now I can really make progress. I’ll be out of this wheelchair in 2 months and am on target to meet and exceed my health goals by year-end.
