There is a lot of talking about videos and avatars in the last few days. My new promotional video I’m editing now has a real human avatar. She is actually a trained dancer.
We have developed a dance routine for the resort I’m doing this promotional work for.
I’ve never told you guys I do this but I try and incorporate local island culture/mythology into a dance routine. This routine when finished is shown nearly every evening at the resort. It’s really unique.
Anyway the dance routine is filmed in a large shed I’ve access to. A very large shed.
Once I’ve filmed it, using a green screen background. I then add the images as a replacement for the green screen.
The images reflect the culture/mythology aspects. I also link this to the opening logo of my main promotional video I supply.
It becomes a seamless experience.
Anyway once it’s filmed and we have an appropriate soundtrack, then the magic happens.
I send the whole presentation to a guy at Pangolin Lasers. I’ve got two of their fancy laser projectors.
They produce a software program for me that runs the lasers to a light sequence that we’ve thought out to compliment, and incredibly enhance the dance.
Once I get this program back, we set up the shed, and rehearse and film it again, with multiple cameras, in all its glory.
The results are awesome. If I say so myself. This particular presentation for this resort will be beautiful and surreal.
The opening logo for the resort promotional video is done in the same way with some spectacular images as the background.
I intend to produce an aboriginal Dreamtime dance sequence later this year to enter it into a competition. Hopefully I’ll get more publicity as I’ve got more plans next year. That will use 5 dancers, fog, lasers and multiple tracking cameras.
