I’m constantly amazed by how the universe works.

Just a few months ago my wife said cheers, my lovely PA decided to take her place.

We sold everything and with my entire video production company of 7 staff and families, decided to start new lives and business horizons in Nice, France.

Since my now life partner has a Film and TV production degree, the same as my head producer at my video company, I asked her to set up a new film and video production company in France. She also speaks fluent French which helps a lot.

We all wanted to access the incredibly generous grants and funding the French government allows film companies.

To get this approval we needed the expertise, which we had, previous projects, for these we used my numerous marketing productions I’ve created for the various island resorts. We also added all the YouTube videos I’ve produced. Thousands of them.

We wanted immediate funding after our application was approved. To enable this we needed a film script fully costed. Amazingly my producer Justin has been wanting to produce an indie film for years and had everything we needed and more.

After our application was approved we were asked who produced the material for the resorts as it was mostly a very unique combination of underwater, drone and surface shots, all produced using iPhones ( my signature techniques ).

Once they found out it was me, and I do not have any recognised qualifications, I was awarded a honorary award in both film and video production AND direction. Something I could not believe could ever happen to me.

With our new company now having 3 producers and one director on its books our company was elevated to a much higher status and we have become eligible for special funding from the EU itself, a completely separate set of funds and requirements to the French.

Here’s where it really gets interesting. During the same time period a consortium of two very large resort operations became interested in us. Because of our new listing with the French government.

They operate mainly in the Pacific and Indian Ocean areas with a diverse number of resorts. Because the world is opening up travel wise, they want a complete revamp and revitalisation of their entire marketing. They have decided to use a single company that is based within that geographical area and hand everything to that company.

That company is US. This is the biggest breakthrough I’ve ever had in my life.

So from my wife leaving me less than 2 months ago, to what we have for our future now, I have absolutely no words to describe what’s happening.

My staff are off to Nice to set up a completely new business, we are going to be producing an indie film, my new love and myself will now be staying in Australia for at least the next year as it’s geographically central to both the Pacific and Indian Ocean resorts we need to produce new marketing material for and I’ve already selected 6 more new qualified staff from the local universities to help on the ground when we film on the various island resort sites.

Everything run and funded from France.

Who knows what the future will bring if this much can happen in less than 2 months.

There is hope for us all. Never give up trying guys, you never know what’s around the corner.
