Pareto Principle

Published on: 13-May 04:24am

I had a very strange but pleasing result in the last few days.

Like you all, I’m constantly testing and trying new methods.

I wanted to see how I could boost an entire siloed series of playlists. They have been quite static in the last few months and I’ve done nothing to them.

In my tests I’m always after that magical Pareto principle. You know the one, simply that 80 percent of consequences come from 20 percent of causes.

So.... once again I fired up good old Thortspace. The amazing 3D mind mapping software that allows you to build assets into a sphere. Brilliant concept. Each asset is a clickable link and you can iframe the entire setup.

It took me about 4 hours to build the sphere, paying particular attention to the interlinking of these playlists. Note. Google cannot follow these inter links, but it’s fantastic for a permanent record for my use.

Really it’s amazing to see this thing when built.

Anyway by just doing that and adding the sphere to various assets I have, actually only a small portion of my assets, the videos concerned have moved higher, and clustered together.

Another tool that I’ll be using as a templated video setup.

I’m sure there are other more exotic products out there, I just don’t have the time to look too deeply.

Hope this can help some of you.
