S3 URL In Simple Terms

Published on: 05-May 08:09am

Q: Can someone explain in very simple terms how when I upload a file to amazon I get it to have a URL of: s3.amazonaws.com/bucketname/filename

rather than

bucketname.s3.amazonaws.com/filename?

Thanks! Remember "simple terms" please I am technically challenged!

A: Yes I think a lot of people were confused by this but simply put, it's not the URL of the page itself but it’s the URL structure that we use for backlinking is where we have control.

So, instead of using the URL structure, AWS gives us we can rearrange it for better authority and plaster it wherever you see fit. Apparently, you just upload as per normal when u want to link you link it to the URL structure you wish.
