The Power of Playlists

I’m sure everyone has seen playlists ranking highly.

This phenomenon stared me in the face for a lonnnnnng time, and I’m embarrassed to say I was too stupid to see the basic connection and principle and how to get this working so that I could rank EVERY video I wanted, including the playlist and the channel.

Take a video called “ keto diet “, now if we produce this video and upload it, the chance of this new video ranking high ( for most of us ), is not that great.

Now use the same video term, use that term in the TubeXplore mapping software and get the child terms. Let’s say there are 4 of them. I’m assuming a fully set up channel is operational here.

Now we make 4 videos using those child terms as video titles.

Now we have the original video that’s not performing well, and 4 others.

YouTube allows us to produce a playlist with these videos. Everyone knows that. But, we now do a few things differently to make those SUPER VIDEOS.

Now I will forgive you in thinking that’s fine, BUT, a playlist is awful looking and not as click worthy as a video with a decent thumbnail.

That’s exactly what I used to think, and that’s what held me back, BUT remember, we are doing things that no one else is doing, so the outcomes WILL be different.

We are using software to map out how YouTube structures the search results in real time AND we are using playlists to power  each individual video, each individual playlist AND the entire channel as well, and of course the prime video.

Read that again, we are using playlists to power EACH individual video, EACH individual playlist AND THE ENTIRE CHANNEL AS WELL, INCLUDING THE PRIME VIDEO.

Let that statement sink in..............

YouTube let’s us add FOUR items to our end cards, which we add to EVERY VIDEO we produce. It is important for you to understand that when you link from an end card to another asset WITHIN YouTube, your linking structure passes juice, but is also enhanced because it’s what YouTube WANTS US TO DO.

So for EVERY SINGLE VIDEO within our channel we will use the same end card template. The only time there will be a change is when we are dealing with the prime video. All others will follow the same templated setup.

Let me use a very, very, simple example, and I’m going to use the graphical representation using the pyramid.

I’m also going to be using ALL the child terms as they appear, not as I’ve instructed you to just follow 1 child term. ( for simplicity sake ).

Level I is our prime video.

Level 2 we have 2 child terms ( remember a very simple example ).

Level 3 we have 3 child terms PER EACH OF THE ABOVE 2 CHILD TERMS.

Level 4 we have 4 child terms for EACH of the above 3 child terms. Our example ends there.

Now we will set our end cards up so that ALL of Level 3, 2 and the prime video are supercharged by the playlists, AS WELL as ranking the playlists, as well as ranking the channel, and obviously the prime video as well.

Level 4 child terms/videos cannot be supercharged as there is no level 5 child terms/videos to support each of the level 4 terms/videos in a playlist configuration.

Lets now assemble the end cards. Starting from level 3.

On level 3 we have 4 child terms for EACH of level 3s child terms/videos. .

BUT to supercharge level 3s child terms/videos, they need to each be INCLUDED in a UNIQUE playlist that contains the child terms that appeared after them on the TubeXplore mind map, meaning level 4s child terms/videos.

THIS MUST BE EXACTLY AS PER THE TUBEXPLORE MIND MAP. EXACTLY. DO NOT DEVIATE.

Though this may sound difficult, it’s written out in front of you by TubeXplore. It’s really simple. Remember take screenshots.

So we take a child term/video from level 3, check which of it’s child terms belong to that child term/video and simply assemble them all together in a playlist.

I’ve added a reference video below to help you. It’s so simple and it’s all done within the YouTube system.

Do that with all the level 3 child terms/videos. When finished we should have 3 completed playlists, each containing 5 videos, one from level 3 and 4 from level 4.

Now we do exactly the same with level 2, using the level 3 child terms/videos that appear under each level 2 child term/video. Thus we will end up with 2 playlists, each containing 4 videos, one from level 2 and 3 from level 3.

Now we get to the prime video.

For the prime video we only have 2 child terms/videos that appear below it. So we will only end up with 1 playlist. It will only contain 3 videos. One from level 1 ( the prime video ), and 2 from level 2.

For the prime video playlist end card the only difference is that we only use 3 of the allowed assets on the end card.

Those being, the channel link, the website link and the link to the prime video. There is NO playlist above to link to.

For all the other end cards we use all 4 allowed assets. Those being as follows, for the allowed 2 video links, firstly, link to the prime video, and secondary, link to the next playlist above or the parent of this particular child term/video. Then the channel and then the website.

What we have accomplished here, is that EVERY VIDEO ( with the exception of the level 4 videos, remember there are no level 5 videos to make playlists out of ), every video is included in a playlist. Every video.

What happens in YouTube is that each video is supported by those below them. ( as per the TubeXplore mind map ). Essentially supercharging them individually, because of the power of these playlists.

We have also powered the playlists above by linking the playlists that appear below them to the one’s above.

Also each video within each playlist is linking to the channel AND THE PRIME VIDEO. Remember this prime video is normally a video in a very competitive environment, so the referred power being directed at it is phenomenal, BUT ITS ALL DONE IN A WAY THAT YOUTUBE PREFERS AND ENHANCES.

Since we stopped at level 4, and were only using a very few videos, the power of this system may not be immediately clear, but consider this, my level 4 videos total 232, now imagine the number of child terms/videos below that.

I’ll stop there so that you all can grasp what I’ve just explained. Some of you just may get an inkling of the true potential of what I’ve just told you.

Until the next time. Part 5. PDFs.

Cheers
